MDC Playwright News: November 2019

KEVIN KING



Kevin King's short play "Lost in the Rain" is one of six short plays that have been selected to be in The Barn Players' annual 6x10 ten minute play festival. This is Kevin's 2nd year in a row of being in the festival. Last year, his play "The Swallows" was featured.

Kevin King directs the the comedy "Swimming in the Shallows" by Adam Bock. Presented by Kevin's company Whim Productions, The play, which received its New York City premiere at Second Stage Theatre in 2005, features a group of friends navigating relationships at different stages. Carla Carla and Donna want to get married, but can’t agree on rings, caterers, or Donna’s smoking. Barb feels heavy and wants to get rid of all but 8 possession but doesn’t bother consult to her husband, Bob. And Nick, who is on a quest to not sleep with his dates right away, considers dating a shark that works at Donna’s aquarium.
