MDC Playwright News: October 2019

EMMA CARTER

Confluence Theater company is producing Emma Carter's Wicked Creatures at The Living Room Theater this fall.

Synopsis: England, the 1880s: When the mysterious, cross-dressing Sonya Smithson invites Archibald Worthington III back to her home for the evening, the young, pretentious scholar soon finds himself a prisoner to Sonya, and her two companions, the “incorruptibly good” Emily Clearwater and humorously foul-mouthed Clara Hollowell. At their mercy, Archibald is forced to perform sexual acts in the pursuit of the greatest scientific invention Sonja can imagine: the perfect female contraceptive.
