David Hanson's "Text Noir" at the Arts Bar June 4

Kansas City Public Theatre has announced the June edition of First Mondays at the Arts Bar.

“Text Noir – A Dangerous Game of Text” by MDC playwright David Hanson will ask audiences to do the opposite of the norm for theater patrons – to keep their phones on during this immersive murder mystery to help discover the secrets of the case. The denizens of a local bar all seem to want to find out who killed Alice – a pretty young waitress at the bar with more secrets than someone that young ought to have. Johnny Flynn, private detective, has been hired to find out who by midnight. The audience not only will be in a bar watching Flynn make his way through case, but also opting in to the texts exchange of three separate conversations. Each one provides another level of understanding as the action plays out in the room and on your phone in a very Dangerous Game of Text.

The production will be directed by Andy Perkins and will feature Justin Barron, Leah Swank-Miller, Michael Foster, Nan Turner, R.H. Wilhoit, Chioma Anyanwu, Deanna Barron, and Nathan Bowman.

“Text Noir” will play Monday, June 4th at 7:30 at the Uptown Arts Bar. More info at KCPublicTheatre.org.
